NPD released the January US game sales chart: "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War" won the championship

Data show that in January, American consumers spent US$4.71 billion on games, an increase of 42% year-on-year. Among them, game hardware sales reached 319 million US dollars, an increase of 144%, thanks to the fire of PS5, Xbox, Switch, and other game consoles. Last month, the Switch sold the most in the United States, and the PS5 had the highest sales. Both figures exceeded the Wii console data in 2009 and 2010.

In terms of game content, the total consumption of game consoles, mobile terminals, and PCs reached US$4.17 billion, a year-on-year increase of 36%. Among them, the newly released "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War" won the sales championship, "Assassin's Creed: Hall of Valor" ranked second, and Marvel's "Spider-Man: Miles Morales" won the third place. Three games on Nintendo Switch occupy 5-7 places in the rankings, namely "Animal Crossing Friends", "Mario Kart 8", and "Fitness Ring Adventure".
