Recently, a related person broke the news that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds 2 will be released in 2022.
A few days ago, PUBG Studio announced PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds: New State, landing on iOS and Android platforms. The game is set in 2051, and the trailer looks pretty good, possibly surpassing traditional mobile games. In view of this, some confused fans speculated whether "New State" is "PUBG Mobile 2", and whether it will eventually land on PC and console.

In response, the pusher PlayerIGN replied that "New State" is only available on mobile platforms, and "PUBG Mobile 2" is available on PC/host/mobile phones, supports cross-platform play, and will be launched in 2022. Recently PUBG Studio conducted an online survey and asked fans what features they would like to add to the game, including rebirth, rock construction, etc., so some of these elements may be added to the sequel.
The pusher PlayerIGN also broke the news that the mobile game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds: New State will have future weapons, new maps, and other content, which will be released later this year. This also means that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds: Mobile, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds: New State, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds 2 are three separate games. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds: Mobile does have constant updates, but "New State" does not seem to be just a simple update, but a big leap.
Battle Royale games such as "Fortnite", "Apex Heroes" and "Call of Duty: War Zone" are currently becoming more popular. Now, PUBG seems to be taking steps to ensure that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will not lag behind other battle royale games.
